Carer
Support Services

Caring for someone? We're here to support you too
At TTHA, we understand that caring for a loved one can be rewarding - and challenging. Carer Support Services help you access Government‑funded respite, practical help and emotional support so you can take a break, recharge and keep caring with confidence.

Respite and carer support that works around you
Caring for someone takes strength, time, and heart - but carers need care too.
Carer support is about more than giving you a break. It’s about supporting your wellbeing, your mental health, and your ability to keep going.
That might mean taking time to see your doctor, attend a family event, or simply rest. But it can also mean joining a carer support group, speaking with a counsellor, or enjoying a social outing with people who understand.
Our services are here for both you and the person you care for. Whether you need help at home, emergency respite, or emotional support just for you. We’re here for you - with support that meets you where you are.
How we help you care
Carer support services can include:
- Flexible respite care - in-home or community-based
- Emergency respite - for a few hours, a day, or longer
- Respite in a safe aged care setting - for peace of mind
- Personal care support - for your loved one, while you take a break
- Assistance in unexpected situations
- Social outings and activities - for you and/or the person you care for
- Counselling and emotional support – someone to talk to when things feel heavy
- Wellness sessions – take time to rest and recharge with gentle self-care
- Educational sessions and support groups – connect, learn and share with others who understand
- Short breaks and holiday options – enjoy time away while we care for your loved one

Let’s make caring easier, together
You don’t need to be registered or receive other government support to access carer services.
If you’re the main person caring for someone, you may be eligible - and accessing support won’t affect your carer payments or other funding.
