Volunteer in Aged Care | TTHA

Ready to make a difference?

At TTHA, volunteers bring warmth, connection, and joy into the lives of older people in our community. By sharing your time and kindness, you can make a real difference - and find a rewarding sense of purpose along the way.

There are three main ways you can get involved.

Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Program

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) matches volunteers with older people living at home who may feel lonely or isolated.

Residential Aged Care Volunteer

Residential Aged Care Volunteering takes place at our aged care home, where volunteers support residents through activities, conversations, and companionship.

International Volunteers

International Volunteer Program

We also have an International Volunteer Program, where young people from overseas come to share their time and culture with our residents. Each program is a great way to connect, give back, and brighten someone’s day.

"We are incredibly proud of our volunteers, and thank them for their unwavering commitment in making a difference in the lives of others."

As a not-for-profit, we depend on the generosity of caring volunteers to help us bring warmth, joy, and companionship to older people. Your time and energy enrich the lives of our residents and community members  -  and in return, many volunteers discover their own lives are brightened through the experience.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life - whether they’re young people learning the responsibilities of caring, professionals sharing skills, retirees building friendships while supporting our residents, or family members wanting to bring joy to others.

Flexible and rewarding
roles

We understand the importance of finding the right fit for each volunteer. At TTHA, we ensure each person is engaged in activities that suit their skills, interests, and availability. Whether you’re interested in ongoing, casual, or event-specific volunteering, we’ll work with you to find a meaningful role.

Plus, our commitment to volunteers goes beyond just providing tasks. We offer training, regular engagement events, and ongoing support so each volunteer feels valued and informed. TTHA provides a space where volunteers can connect, grow, and be part of a caring team.

TTHA prides

International
volunteers

TTHA has a proud German heritage, and we welcome both German-speaking staff and volunteers. One of our most exciting initiatives is the International Volunteers program, where young people from Germany join us at TTHA to support our team. These young adults bring language, culture, youthfulness, joy, knowledge, creativity, curiosity and a lot of different skills to support our residents. They are a great asset not only for the residents but also for their relatives and staff of TTHA.

Since 2022 we are grateful to be working with volunteers from Verein für internationalen und interkulturellen Austausch (VIA e.V.) and Evangelische Freiwillgendienste gGmbH (Das Diakonische Jahr im Ausland, DJiA) .
